Forbes magazine recently reported that of all of Hollywood’s mega-grossing on-screen couples that it is Harry Potter’s beloved Rupert Grint and Emma Watson top the list with the Harry Potter movies having earned the pair a staggering 6.3 billion thus far. And since the final film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is slated for release in the eminent future, the franchised is expected to hit 7 billion thanks to the chemistry of this pair. Now, a lot of readers may not know about Hollywood power couples from year’s past like Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn or Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, but for those readers who do (and can still see the steam their unions emitted), the reason they are not listed on the Forbes list is that the publication only looked back 10 years while compiling their results.Additionally, for those wondering about Shrek and Fiona, Forbes did not include animated films.Other couples who made the list but trailed Grint and Watson are Viggo Mortensen and Liv Tyler (Lord of the Rings), Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean), Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio (Titanic and Revolutionary Road even though the “ten year rule” was bent a little for Titanic to be included). And for those that are screaming what about Bella and Edward? it should be pointed out that the Forbes list was based on box office gross dollars (and not popularity), and since the Twilight films have only grossed a little under 2 billion they fall behind those included in the complete Forbes list.
